If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant that takes you back to your last trip to San Fran's Chinatown, you've found it with this hidden gem. From the family that runs it to the boxes of supplies stacked along the back hallway, this place screams 1960s Chinatown! We've never been disappointed in the food quality nor the portions. Everything is old school... none of that "fusion" silliness we get at so many places. What amazes me is our waitress always remembers our favorites, never writes them down, but always gets it right. And they have never cheated us on any of the expensive ingredients (you'll never ask, "Where's the beef?" here). Could the place be cleaner? Sure. Could the table settings be fancier? Sure. Could some things be better prepared? Sure. But remember, you've been transported to Chinatown and none of that matters now. So just enjoy some cool atmosphere & some great grub.

I've been coming to this family owner restaurant for Abt 10 years on and off. I continue coming back for the delicious traditional Cantonese cuisine. I usually have the same thing (the Mongolian beef complete dinner) but this time I decided to switch it up based on our waitresses recommendation, and I couldn't be happier. We had the Cantonese beef chow mein with double pan dried noodles. Absolutely delicious as always. The soup wasn't as great this time around but it was still good. I've read a few of the comments on here and have to disagree with the service. I always get waited on by the same young girl and she's always attentive and more than sweet in makeing sure everything is to your satisfaction (and no we don't go to school together, lol). If your looking for a quiet neighborhood spot for some delicious Chinese food this is the spot. Never busy to eat in but don't be fooled.. The amount of ppl coming for take out is unreal.

I love the Dragon Teahouse! I have been a fan for almost 20 years. Having grown up in NYC I appreciate the authenticity of the menu, with Cantonese and Szechuan being their specialties. Sometimes they are busy and you may wait, but you will have hot tea and a bowl of crispy noodles right away to take the edge off your hunger. The atmosphere takes me back to Chinatown. This is the REAL THING! Request anything you don't see on the menu. We always ask for specific items in our fried rice or stir fries. A true gem!!!

Fortune read...in Spanish "Proud to be an American" Yeah my fortune was in spanish...well one side was which I thought it was odd since it was a chinese fortune cookie and it said proud to be an american. Maybe they meant proud to be in America. Thought the fortune was hilarious. The service was good. The food was good but not great. The wonton soup was not good. The beef szechuan was better than most in SoFlo but still not great chinese. The rice was ehh & the eggroll was ok. They had me at funny fortune cookie and the chinese calendar I got as a free gift.

As one good Yelper noted, this place seems to have been around forever. On that count, it's been here for 35 years to be exact. The last time I ate here had to have been over a decade ago, but since Yelp then didn't exist, you won't find my review or my check-in. And, over the last decade, I can't say that anything much has changed with the exception that they have fewer food items (no more scallops and no more lobster), regardless of the fact that they have such noted on what is a 20 year old menu. It's a small restaurant, but with decent décor and table settings. It serves both as a dine in and a takeout restaurant and while I was there most of the patrons were doing takeout orders which, if your seated and trying to enjoy your meal, can prove somewhat annoying. For a Chinese restaurant it has about the smallest menu of any Chinese restaurant around, and as I mentioned, some of the items they purport to have, like those with scallops and lobster, neither of which they carry. For service the place isn't bad except during checking out, as they never seem to carry much if any cash, you generally end up with an annoyingly long wait while they run around even trying to come up with something small like, in my case, $7.00. Overall, except much smaller and much more abbreviated, their menu reads like any other small Chinese or Chinese takeout restaurant and though it says Szechuan and Cantonese, most everything is Cantonese. I ordered their wonton soup, a egg roll, shrimp with lobster sauce and rice. The wonton soup tasted pretty good, but then again I've never met a wonton that didn't, but have to say it was pretty much par, average. The spring roll again sort of average, about what you'd find at any takeout. The shrimp with lobster sauce, however, wasn't very good, simply not up to snuff with any other such dish I have had elsewhere. First off, it came in a bowl and was so runny it was more like a soup than it even be like a stew. In fact, the only reasonable way to get it out of the bowl was with a fork so that some of the liquid would run off, otherwise you end up with a small pond of floating rice on your plate. But worst of all was the fact that it was totally flavorless, and when I say totally I mean bland and tasteless to the extreme. With all the Chinese restaurants around, Americanized as most of them are, I'd say that Dragon Tea House would not be one of your better choices.

On a Saturday night I decided I wanted some Chinese food so since I haven't found my favorite local Chinese spot I gave this place a try based on reviews I found here. I was disappointed. I opted for take out and ordered sweet & sour chicken which included pork fried rice and an egg roll. I didn't experience the service so this review is only about the food. All of the food tasted like it wasn't very fresh. The chicken seemed the freshest. The rice was either left over or very over cooked and dry. The chicken was ok but nothing to rave about. The egg roll was equally unimpressive. I'll keep searching for my go-to Chinese spot.

I have been eating here for 25 years. The food is delicious, the prices are more than fair and the decor is outdated, but cozy and homey. They are always extremely friendly and courteous. The food is better than any Chinese place I have found in Broward County. Some of my favorites are the honey garlic chicken, cashew chicken, egg rolls, wonton soup, and pork lo mien . I love this little neighborhood place. Its low key, generous portions, more than worth the money and serves consistently good food.

This little neighborhood place has been around for years and has a loyal following. The food is always fresh, consistent, and tasty, although a bit Anglophied. The honey garlic chicken, pan-fried dumplings, and special wonton soup are very good, and so is the chicken with broccoli. The egg rolls are fresh and crispy. Irene, your greeter, is friendly and gracious.

It's been here forever, I haven't heard anything bad, I wanted Chinese. As boring as that sounds, it sums up my experience. Make sure you become a regular here or go to school with the waitress because those are the only people who seem to get decent service. I really wanted to enjoy my dinner, I did! I tried so hard to overlook some stuff, but in the end I left disappointed and unsatisfied. Sure I was full, but I wasn't happy about it. I walked in, a Thursday night around 7, 2 tables seated, not busy at all. The guy at the register was on the phone taking an order, the waitress was chatting it up with a couple with a baby. After standing there awkwardly for 2 minutes she finally took noticed and asked if I was picking up an order. I told her I'd like to dine in and she finally realized she was working and seated me. She walked over to the table with 2 teenage girls and promptly struck up a conversation. I determined from their chat that they all go to the same high school (and I fear it was the same one I attended many years ago). Finally she came back over to ask if I wanted a drink. My tea and water arrived much later after a few more pit stops at the girls' table, and I finally placed my order. I'm going fairly low-carb, so I asked for the brown rice, and was told they were out, oh well, no rice for me then. The egg drop soup mixed with wonton (or rather just egg drop with wontons, they call it "mixed soup") was good, nothing amazing, and actually the wontons were fairly bland but at least the egg drop was better than some of my recent experiences. The egg roll was tasty and very well dried, no molten oil running down my arm when I bit into it. However, could have been a bit warmer, seems like the extra drain time from the oil wasn't done under a heating source so it cooled off a bit. My dinner was Jade Chicken, which said it came with broccoli and straw mushrooms. Since I'm on a high fiber veggie diet and wasn't getting the rice, I asked for a side of steamed veggies as well. While I probably should have asked what sauce Jade Chicken had, I didn't and I regret it. It was basically moo goo gai pan sauce - thick, bland, slightly salty. The chicken was cooked very moist and tender and all the veggies seemed very crisp and fresh with the exception of the straw mushrooms which just tasted old (darn, those are my favorites, too). The waitress only came back to my table once. She took my water glass for a refill, left it in the kitchen, came back to chat with her girlfriends, and then went back to the kitchen to bring me my water. Meanwhile, the other table that was seated when I came in had left and their dishes were still sitting on the uncleaned table. I finally got my check, placed cash down, waited until she was in between chats to get my change, and got the heck out of there. I hate to say poor service because she was really nice and seemed like a sweet girl, but I could tell she was your a-typical high school student more engrossed in chatting with her BFFs and complaining about homework and her work hours than doing her job as a waitress. So service was lacking, food was nothing special, and I won't be coming back.

I've been looking for Cantonese Boston style Lobster Sauce. SCORE. For most people who have looked for Boston Lobsah' sauce will stop here and head ova'. It was a 9. The spare ribs were true to the Boston Cantonese style 9. Found it to look very clean in the dining room, although I only waited there for my take out. I will be back real soon. Be sure to ask for the Boston Style since they do make it the other light style too.
